How to Apply to our Schools

You can apply for Magnet and Application Placement schools for school year 2026-2027 between Monday, November 3, 2025 and Friday, January 9, 2026 to be eligible for the First Lottery.

Don't stress! Rushing doesn't increase your chances in the lottery.

We are an open enrollment district and all students are welcome at all schools when space is available.

Magnet and Application Placement schools require an application to enroll for the first time, unless you live in the school's neighborhood: Find Your School (PAG)

Most of our schools do not require an application (see Greenlight Schools).

For your neighborhood school or for Greenlight schools, please skip the application and register your child. Registration for 2026-27 opens on November 3, 2025.

We require all applications to be online, you need an account to receive updates via email as well as accept placements.

All lottery correspondence will come from Smart Choice/School Mint.

Siblings do NOT get automatic placement at schools.

If a student has a sibling attending their school of choice, or placed in that school in an earlier lottery, they will be placed if seats are available (by grade and by program per Governing Board policy).

The priority window for the 1^st lottery is Monday, November 3, 2025 – Friday, January 9, 2026.

The 1^st lottery for SY 26-27 will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The 1st lottery is for In-District students only for their 1st Choice school (per Governing Board policy).

The 2^nd lottery will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, and is for All students and All choices.

Subsequent lotteries will run every 3 weeks until late August 2026.
