About Us
Social Emotional Learning and Development Department

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions

Mission & Vision

The mission of the Social Emotional Learning and Development Department is to establish a culture and climate for students, families, and staff that supports and nurtures relationships, self-awareness, inclusion, and resilience.

We cultivate relationships and a sense of belonging within our diverse community by embracing empathy and shared decision-making, and by building a culture of trust where learners can grow and flourish in safe environments.

If you’re thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support, the Lifeline network is available 24/7 across the United States.

Lifeline ofrece 24/7, servicios gratuitos en español, y no es necesario hablar inglés si usted necesita ayuda.

Students can now get self-care tips, ways to boost emotional wellbeing and learn how to help a friend by using the free interactive and anonymous text messaging activity. The activity takes one hour. We encourage all students grades 6 -12 to utilize this great community resource.
