TUSD Students Named Flinn Scholarship Semifinalists

UHS Flinn Scholarship semifinalists Ben Gerber, Jennifer Orozco Torres and Jared Matheson

Five TUSD high school seniors were named semifinalists for the Flinn Scholarship. University High School's Ben Gerber, Jared Matheson and Jennifer Orozco Torres, as well as Pueblo High School's Leanna Payan Delgado and Tucson High Magnet School's Caitlyn Rosenbluth were selected from more than 1,000 applicants to advance to the next round of consideration.

The Flinn Scholarship is Arizona's most competitive merit-based college scholarship, and it covers the full cost of tuition, fees, housing and meals at one of Arizona's public universities, plus study abroad opportunities.

Ben, Jared, Jennifer, Leanna and Caitlyn are among 80 semifinalists from the Class of 2024. All semifinalists who are not selected as a Flinn scholar are eligible to receive a $15,000 annual scholarship if they attend Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University or the University of Arizona. About 20 students are expected to be chosen as Flinn Scholars in the spring.

Congratulations, and good luck Ben, Jared, Jennifer, Leanna and Caitlyn!
