District Spelling Bee

On January 20, Tucson Unified held its annual district spelling bee at Howenstine Professional Learning Center. Upon winning their site spelling bee competition, schools sent their champions to the district competition to vie for the win.

Parents, family, friends, district principals and personnel gathered to witness a tight fight for first and second place to represent TUSD at the Pima County Bee, which will be held on February 17 at Canyon del Oro High School. These champions have been immersed in preparation for this competition since September 2023 when the materials for the 2024 Bee were released.

Ricardo Evan Cabrera (Dodge Middle School) and Jeremy Li (Fruchthendler Elementary School) took first and second place respectively and will compete at the Pima County event. Good luck, Ricardo and Jeremy!
