The school opened in 1975, and was named after Frances J. Warren, who worked in Tucson Unified School District for 29 years as a substitute, full-time teacher and briefly in 1895 as superintendent. During the open house, there will be several activities happening throughout the school, including:
- 5:15 pm - Native American blessings in front of the building
- 5:40 and 6:20 pm - Singing of the School Song by Warren students in the cafe
Pistor Middle School Mariachi will be performing throughout the night. There will be a history lesson slideshow in the library about the school and its namesake, as well as an OMA art show in the Wildcat Room, science projects and videos of STARBASE in the STEAM Lab (Room 14), and a preschool tour in Room 9. Food trucks will be outside and sweet treats will be in the cafe, available for purchase.
If you can't attend the celebration, the school will be posting photos from the event on its Facebook page.
