Two Tucson High Magnet School seniors were the only two students selected from Tucson Unified for the 2025 Med-Start program at the University of Arizona.

Angel Campos and Jaden Silvas competed with students from across Arizona for a chance at one of around 40 spots for the summer program. Angel and Jaden are both National Honor Society (NHS) students with GPAs above 4.0.

The UofA's Med-Start program is a selective summer academic enrichment program for Arizona high school students. The application process includes an interview, and students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have completed their junior year of high school. Applications for Med-Start are available from September through January.

Students get to live in a residence hall on the UofA campus; complete introductory-level coursework in English, chemistry and math; participate in hands-on presentations and demonstrations; and tour health care and research facilities.

Congratulations, Angel and Jaden!
