Bloom’s Breana Chavez Named Inaugural “Teachers Who Rock” Recipient

A woman with dark hair smiles for a photoTucson Unified’s Dual Language Educator Breana Chavez was named the inaugural “Teachers Who Rock” recipient by the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., Eta Delta Chapter. The recognition was in celebration of American Education Week 2025 and highlights the dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment of educators who embody excellence in teaching and uplift their students and communities.

Ms. Chavez, who teaches 3rd grade at Bloom Elementary, works tirelessly to ensure that students grow academically, culturally, and socially. She is known for championing bilingual education, encouraging literacy, and supporting the whole child through culturally responsive instruction and meaningful family engagement.

The Eta Delta Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. selected Ms. Chavez as the first honoree and hopes to recognize more exceptional educators in the future.

“Ms. Chavez exemplifies the purpose of this recognition—she is a teacher who truly rocks,” said the leadership of the Eta Delta Chapter. “Her dedication to dual-language education and her commitment to her students reflect the values we champion as an organization: scholarship, service, and sisterhood.”
