Tucson Unified School District is committed to providing equitable and non-discriminatory transportation services.
We provide the safest mode of transportation to and from school for over 20,000 Tucson Unified students. We serve the largest school district in southern Arizona, with a fleet of over 300 buses that drive over 1,250 bus routes.
Our school buses travel over 24,000 miles each day, and over 4,300,000 miles annually, including regularly scheduled routes, field trips, athletics events, and special education routes.

  • Eligibility expansion - All open enrolled students are eligible for transportation.
  • If the stop is not available within safe walking distance, parents will be responsible for transporting their children to these designated stops.
  • Students will be routed on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the availability of seats on open enrolled routes.
  • Students who do not ride for 10 consecutive days will be automatically dropped from the route.
  • Interactive Map - Open enrolled students can select from a list of available bus stops online.
  • Students who live within the attendance boundary and outside the walk zone are eligible for transportation and will be routed. The opt-in option for transportation is available during the (ORL) Online Registration process.
  • Students who live within the attendance boundary should not use the Interactive map to select their stop.  
  • Students who do not ride for 10 consecutive days will be automatically dropped from the route
Walk Zone Reduction- For the 2025-26 School Year
  • K-8 School - Walk zone was reduced from 1½ miles to 1 mile.
  • Elementary - Walk zone was reduced from 1½ miles to 1 mile.
  • Exceptional Education students who are eligible for transportation will be routed. The opt-in option for transportation is available during the (ORL) Online Registration process
  • Exceptional Education Students with an IEP that requires Transportation should not use the Interactive map to select their stop. 
  • Students who do not ride for 10 consecutive days will be automatically dropped from the route.
