Rincon High School Teacher Honored with Chicanos Por La Causa Esperanza Latino Teacher Award

Rincon High School Spanish teacher Alicia Wong was presented with $5,000 by Chicanos Por La Causa for their Esperanza Latino Teacher award.

Rincon High School Spanish teacher Alicia Wong was recently honored for her exceptional teaching and commitment to her students, earning her the Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) Esperanza Latino Teacher Award

CPLC was founded in 1969 to fight discrimination against the Mexican American community. Today the organization provides health services, housing, education, economic development and advocacy to people of all backgrounds in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas. 

CPLC surprised Mrs. Wong on April 25 in her classroom with a check for $5,000. Rincon High School also received a check for $2,500.
