Mes de La Cultura Opening Ceremony

Tucson Unified School District’s Mexican American Student Services Department is celebrating “Mes de la Cultura/ Latinx Heritage Month," observed from September 15 to October 15, 2025.

TUSD’s Mexican American Student Services Department invites the community to join in this year’s celebration! Activities center on our district’s deep commitment to honoring the history, culture, and contributions of the Latinx community. Together, we seek to empower students and families by fostering unity, equity, justice, and cultural pride. Throughout the month, we will highlight the rich traditions, resilience, and achievements that continue to shape and strengthen our schools and community.

  • 9:45 - 10:00 am – Pueblo Piano
  • 10:00-10:05 am – Pueblo Theatre

LoterĂ­a Night
Borton Elementary Magnet School celebrated Mexican Independence Day and kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with a community Lotería Night! Students, staff, and families gathered in the cafeteria for a large game of lotería, and for the chance to win raffle prizes.
